Absolutely textbook example from one of the most prestigious edged weapon firms of the Third Reich. Carl Eickhorn.
This has the 12 leaves pommel showing great patina. The type C grip in near mint condition, with normal wear and one small chip on the upper left if looking at from the front (third rib down). Beautiful type 4 crossguard with matching patina. A straight scabbard with one back screw as it should be with matching patina and only minor aging. One tiny ding on the bottom hardly noticible if your not looking. A bright blade with the second Eickhorn maker mark. The blade has very minor againg with almost all crossgrain remaining. All that together dates this piece to the years 1937-1940. Overall a beautiful piece that is getting much harder to find these days.
