About Mountain Militaria

As with most dealers, I began my career as a collector. When I was a child, I lived with my grandparents. Having served in World War II, my grandfather brought back many “war trophies”. Consequently, as a young child, I often played with a German K98 bayonet and a Japanese type 30 bayonet, both of which were swords to me at the time. I became fascinated with them. I was able to observe firsthand the connection between the artifact and the person who owned it. The rest is history (no pun intended). I was hooked from that point on!

Because I remember the stories my grandfather shared and the items he brought back from the war, the history of these kinds of artifacts has always fascinated me. These objects are physical and tangible, allowing us to hold a piece of history in our hands. They represent some of the most significant events in our past! For this reason, we, as their custodians, have both the duty and the privilege of preserving and caring for these artifacts for future generations. If only they could narrate their own stories! As my collection has expanded over the years, I have inevitably acquired duplicates or sold a few items to finance new acquisitions. This is how one becomes a dealer. I still possess the K98 and Type 30 bayonets, which are among the most cherished items in my collection.

My goal as a dealer is to assist you, as a collector, in finding the perfect piece for your collection, allowing you to appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, and history of these artifacts. Regardless of an item’s value, I want you to enjoy the pieces you get from Mountain Militaria as much as I enjoy the pieces in my personal collection. If you are searching for something that is not listed on the site, I have a network of friends who are collectors and/or dealers and can help you locate the missing piece for your collection.
